Local Youths wins NWTF Scholarship
This scholarship is set up to benefit youth with an interest in a conservation-related field of study and is a part of the NWTF's Five-Star program. Applicants for the scholarship are judged on their scholastic achievements, leadership abilities, community involvement and decision to study a wildlife-related field.
The winners of the local chapter scholarship of $500 and are then eligible for consideration of the state award of $1,000 a year for four (4) years with a GPA of 2.5, and finally, are eligible for the national NWTF scholarship of $10,000.
"This scholarship program addresses an area of study that has historically been lacking in available money in the past and will help develop stewards to manage our natural resources in the future," said the NWTF's CEO Rob Keck.
