This is known as the Shouse Building.  The first known owner of the Shouse Building was J. L. Walker and Dickerson.  It was sold to T. J. Ballard in 1896.  Deed Reference X-282.

T. J. Ballard sold the building to C. E. Bond on April 27, 1896 for $2, 650.  Deed Reference K - 238.

Mr. C. E. Bond remolded the building, possibly adding a new front.   He named the building C. E. Bond Real Estate.  Mr. Bond was the president of the Lawrenceburg National Bank and in the Real Estate business.  He built not only in Anderson County, but also in surrounding counties as well.  Mr. Bond kept the building as his real estate and construction offices until January 29, 1904 when he sold it to J. W. Shouse for $4, 590.  Deed Reference 4 - 119.

Mr. Shouse changed the name of the front of the building to J. W. Shouse Building in 1904.  The building was then used as a dry goods store.  The building was sold to S. V. Gordon in 1937.  Deed Reference 32-445.  Mr. Gordon had Gordon's Funeral Home in this building until 1947.

The daughter of S. V. Gordon, Lucille Depoyster, owned the building after this.  It was used as rental property.  An insurance company was upstairs and a law office was downstairs.

Tom Jones bought the building about 1978.  It is now used as his law office.
